Get the date created and date modified from closed workbooks

Hi All,

I have a sub and a function that iterates through a folder and grabs data from certain cells in closed workbooks and populates cells in the Activeworkbook with these values. I would also like to grab the dates the files were created and modified.

Any suggetions on the VBA code to do this or do I need to call an API?

You can use the BuiltInDocumentProperties function to grab that info from each file.

Thanks, I was not sure if the BuiltInDocumentProperties function worked on closed workbooks. i will try it.
