Getting at MS Project data in an Excel Macro

Maybe this should be on the Excel forum ... but as it is a generic question rather than a specific problem I thought here might be a good place to start.

We have MS Project 2007 and Excel 2007 - we run macros in MSP to generate excel files which works fine, but what I would like to be able to do is directly access an MSP file and pull specific data in relation to that project into a spreadsheet ....

Does anyone know if this is possible (and how I would start) ???
