Getting counts based on keywords

This may be a little confusing, but any help would be greatly appreciated! So in one column, i have descriptions of warranty claims on a type of vehicle. What I want to do is in the next several columns have keywords in the top cell (i.e. damaged, missing) and if those key words are in the descriptions to mark it in the keyword column with an X. then at the bottom sum up the number of instances (the number of X's in each keyword column) to see which warranty claims were most common. Disregard the underscores, it wouldn't keep the spacing with just putting spaces and Sorry if this could be easier, im new to this forum and not especially good at excel. but what I have are the descriptions (column A) and what I need are columns B,C,D. and since not all the descriptions use the same describing words for the same problem (i.e. clog and plug) i dont know how to have it search for both of those individually instead of as a whole.
