Hi all

I can't seem to figure out why I keep getting this error returned. I've tried all different variable types and nothing seems to work.
Any help is appreciated.

VBA Code:
Private Sub TextBox2_Change()
Dim Hrs As Variant
Hrs = TextBox2.Value - TextBox1.Value
TextBox6.Value = Hrs
End Sub

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
Hi,
you should try TextBox6.Value = Val(TextBox2.Value) - Val(TextBox1.Value) …

Solution
Hi,
you should try TextBox6.Value = Val(TextBox2.Value) - Val(TextBox1.Value) …
Thank you, I was definitely making it harder than it needed to be. I'm still somewhat new, so thank you very much. Your help is appreciated

Another way : TextBox6.Value = Evaluate(TextBox2.Value & "-" & TextBox1.Value) …

Is all textbook input considered string? (probably a very primitive question)
I'm only asking because it looks like with this solution you're telling it to return Variant from the expression.
But I THOUGHT that's what I was accomplishing by declaring a Variant and assigned the expression to that variable

As named TextBox your issue comes from trying to calculate from string rather than from numbers …
