Goal seek whilst using circular reference

Hi All,

I was wondering if you could assist. I am currently using a model which has an iterative circular reference in order to calculate a debt size.

I would like to use the model to goal seek a revenue price input in order to achieve a certain return. The goal seek will not solve because of the circular and keeps giving me the circular error box, despite iterative calculation being on.

Is there any way around this? Any recommendations will be very helpful.

Thanks,

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
Hi,

I suppose you already read these:

link2.

also what version of Excel are you using, this may be helpful for the forum to assist you.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. I'm using 2007. Thanks for the links, but I'm not sure they can help me around this particular issue. I'm comfortable using the iterative process but I just can't seem to get the goal seek function to work when the model is set to iterate.

What I'm looking for is a way to use goal seek when iteration is on in order to solve for a specific output. Not sure if there is a VBA guru that can help?

Thanks gain.
