Hi All

I am managing an Excel data file (Excel 2010) which contains more than 400,000 rows and 55 columns.
It is impossible to work with a Pivot table - i get a massage that Excel do not have enough sources (i can't play with the pivot / refresh etc...)
I also tried to use the "Power Pivot" - but didn't succeed uploading the file to the power pivot - I get all kinds off errors (Syntax errors etc...)

anyone has an idea how can that be solved?

thanks a lot

Excel Facts

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
With that amount of data I would consider researching alternative products ... i.e. something other than Excel ... to do your analysis. It may be that simply using a storage area outside of Excel, like a database product, that you can query from within Excel, would solve your problems

Shove it into Access and do a cross-tab query?

FYI that amount of data shouldn't be a problem for PowerPivot.

Hi
thank you all for the reply
I know that power pivot should handle it - but I simply cant load the data.

what did you mean by -
"using a storage area outside of Excel, like a database product, that you can query from within Excel, would solve your problems"

how does that work?
(this is a file I am working on a daily basis, and not one time analysis )

thanks
