Has anyone seen plotting data like this?

The blue dot moves according to the average width.
The formula looks like this;
=IF([@Width]<10.7,LArrow,IF([@Width]>25.1,REPT(" ",34)&RArrow,REPT(" ",([@Width]-10.7)*2.42)&Dot))
I was just curious how something like this is done.

I don't see an image to relate to, but the formula is referencing a table column (Width), and L/RArrow and Dot are Named Ranges.

It's a formula for a variation of an in-cell bar chart. See

The cell containing the the IF formula might be formatted to use a font different from the rest of the worksheet. I would not be surprised if Consolas or Courier New is used, or one of the W'ding or symbol fonts.

LArrow, RArrow, and Dot are named formulas, each defining text strings or single characters. LArrow and RArrow could be strings of whitespace characters or arrow symbols or triangles.

When Width is less than 10.7 it displays the string =LArrow.

When Width is between 10.7 and 25.1 inclusive, the cell displays a calculated number of spaces and then Dot. The number of spaces is =TRUNC((Width - 10.7) * 2.42).

When Width is greater than 25.1, the displayed string is 34 spaces then RArrow.
