"Head to Head" sorting criteria for sport ladder

Ok, what I want to know how to do is rank teams by their "Head to Head" results if 2 or more teams have the same record. I actually think this will be very tricky to do.

As per normal sport ladders, there is no Head to Head column. But if there needs to be, I will make it invisible.

Does anyone know the best way to do this? I can do a screenshot if needed. If so, how can I do a screenshot on here?

I want another column on the ladder page (it will be invisible) which will link from the Head to Head page. I need some sort of formula that will find the head to head result between 2 or more teams and allow me to sort them accordingly on the ladder.

e.g. Team A and Team B both have a 12-8 record. They have played each other 3 times, Team A won 2-1. Therefore, I want Team A to rank higher on the ladder than Team B.

Does that make any sense?
