Hello everyone! I just wanted to say hi to everyone since I just joined a minute ago. I've been looking for a place to be able to get answers for those very odd questions I seem to have about if I can do something within Excel or not when other sources are stumped.

Right now I have a question about creating a permanent reference cell "tag" that can be copied along a worksheet without having to go into every single cell to adjust the formula back to the permanent reference cell A1 (for example), after Excel automatically does it adjustment for the new formula location. I would like the entire worksheet to use certain cells for reference data without having to manually adjust things.

And no...I do not know how to write macros or whatever they are, if they would even help.

Thank you!!

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest
Hi and Welcome to the board ;)

To me this question belongs in the Excel Questions part of this Board.

Probably the Moderators will move it there, but being that it is a slow night, it may not happen for awhile.

You should give a little more detail in what you HAVE in reference to cells, sheets, etc. and what you want the results to ACHIEVE in reference to cells, sheets, etc. And be as presice as possible since WE cannot see your sheet(s)
Example:
after Excel automatically does it adjustment for the new formula location. I would like the entire worksheet to use certain cells for reference data without having to manually adjust things.
This line is not very clear as to what you want done.

I'm sure this is achieveable.

Have a look at absolute and relative references and at the INDIRECT function

Moved.

Nalani, you can use the Report button on a post to notify Moderators if you think it is in the wrong forum. That way it should come to a Moderator's attention reasonably quickly. With this thread it only got noticed because I stumbled across it. The Moderators do not (and could not) look at every thread/post. ;)

mos68x, Welcome to the MrExcel board! Since you were asking a question, it would be better for you to get a quick & good response if you had given your thread a title that relates to your question. Keep that in mind for next time. :)
