Last message i sent i wasn't clear, someone answered it...the formula worked but it wasn't what i needed

I need IF and Vlookup merge into one....

I need the formula to do if CELL A2 = Y then lookup in Range A, IF CELL A2=Z then lookup in Range B

Thanks in advance

Excel Facts

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
=IF(A2="Y", VLOOKUP(Value, Range, Return, Match Type), IF(A2 = "Z", VLOOKUP(Value, BRange, Return, Match Type),""))

stebrownsword, your request in either thread isn't clear. but both the solution provided by Comfy here, and the solution provided by Desu Nota here are essentially the same.

You would probably be better sticking to the same thread to resolve the issue, or to ask for clarification if you didn't understand the response you were given.
