Hi,

sorry to bother you guys but i am a complete novice that has been thrown in at the deepend with no way of getting any help.

whats is wrong with this formula

=IF('Letters tab'!B3="(>today+40)","yes","no")

if it has been more than 40 days since the date in b3 i want it to say yes. until the 40 days are up i want it to say no

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated

thanks

Nick

Using a mouse in Excel is the work equivalent of wearing a lanyard when you first get to college
Try
Code:
=if('Letter tab'!B3<(today()-40),"yes","no")
which I think should do what I think you want . . .
