I'm new to Excel and I need to right a calculation to do the following:

If the value in C3 = the value in list LIST!A1:A150, then I need the value in the cell directly right of LIST!A1:A150 (B1:B150) inserted back to the cell just right of C3 (D3)

I'm sure this is simple for you experts, but I am just a novice and I can't tell if I should be using LOOKUP, MATCH, IF, or what.

Thanks,
Gary

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
Looks like a job for Mr. VLOOKUP.

The syntax is: The formula first uses the first argument (C1) to look in C1. Then, it looks in the first column of the lookup range (the 2nd argument, $A$1:$B$150) to see if it finds a match. If it finds a match, it returns the value in the column of the lookup range that's indicated by the third argument (2). The last argument, FALSE, tells it to look for only exact matches.

If you click on the Function Wizard (fx) icon on your toolbar and, in the dialogue box, select the function you're interested in, a second dialogue box will give you the syntax and will walk you through entering the formula.
