This will sound silly and easy but it doesn't seem to work, here goes;

D E F G H I
5) 900 - 150 - 100 - 200 - 37--- total


The 900 above is the starting total the rest are numbers I wish to subtract from that figure to equal a total a the end.

I thought that the sum for this would be: =SUM(D5)-E5:F5 but when I press return it comes back with #VALUE.

Any help would be good :)

*The letters above the figures don't stay above the appropriate figures when I Press submit, but you get the idea. lol
