Please Help. If I have a drop down Menu in C3 with six options, English 1201, English 2201, English 3201, English 1202, English 2202 and English 3202, what type of formula would I have to enter in C2 to have "Academic" appear if English 1201 or 2201 or 3201 are chosen or "General" appear in English 1202 or 2202 or 3202 are chosen?

I have tried several combinations of formauls, but I think I am missing a key Step. Basically I would for C2 to be able to do the following
If(C3="English 1201","English 2201","English 3201","Academic"
IF(C3="English 1202","English 2202","English 3202","General"
If (C3="","")

Excel Facts

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
Try

=IF(OR(C3="English 1201",C3="English 2201",C3="English 3201"),"Academic",IF(OR(C3="English 1202",C3="English 2202",C3="English 3202"),"General",""))
