Hallo,
I'm looking for a way of automatically inserting the current date when I open a new workbook but when opened subsequently, a day later say, it retains the date it was originally created on. Is this possible please?
Many thanks,
papi

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
You would need to use your personal macro workbook to do this for you, and then you can create a new workbook and add the date into a cell.

Sub NewBook1()
Workbooks.Add
Range("A1") = Date
End Sub

Once you save the workbook and then when ever you open it cell A1 will hold the date it was created unless you delete Cell A1 content. I suppose you could look to use the properties of the workbook as well.
