Help with matching up info with a chart

First Post* General question,

Cell A2:A20 lists codes, Cell B2:B20 list names.

Now in cell D down list names: How do i match the codes to the names in cell E.

this goes down thousands of cells.. Would save me some time

=VLOOKUP(D1,A2:B20,2,FALSE)

Sorry, wrong way round. Try:

=INDEX(A2:A20,MATCH(D1,B2:B20,FALSE))

Genius! Worked well I had to custom the format so once I dragged down it would stay the same.. So I used
=INDEX($A$2:$A$20,MATCH(D1,$B$2:$B$20,FALSE))
