Hello Excellers...

I have attached a picture of a fx=MID formula whose result I want to now determine as male or female or unused.
The results in the column marked Sex should indicate that 1=M (male), 2=F (female) or 0 = (Unused).
Can anyone please assist me? I am working in a very secluded place and all I have is this online resource to get this done urgently.

Appreciated.

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.

Oh, if there any other alternative formulae to go about what I am trying to achieve, please share them as well as long as they can achieve the same result.

In E6, copied down :

=INDEX({"Unused","Male","Female"},MID(B6,5,1)+1)

Another option
=CHOOSE(MID(B6,5,1)+1,"Unused","Male","Female")
