below is a function i have written

=IF(ISNA(VLOOKUP(C3,A$3:B$7500,2,0)),0,VLOOKUP(C3,A$3:B$7500,2,0))

it works kinda.. if in column c i have a number 12345. it wont find it,but it exists, but in column c if i have abcd it finds it b/c its text. now if i copy and paste special column a and click the "add" button, it now finds 12345 but obviosly not abcd. what can i do to this function so that it will find both the numbers and the txt numbers.

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
Your vlookup() will find both text and numerics.

My guess is that your numbers are actually stored as text values.
