Hello all.... this is so silly, but MrExcel has helped me so very very much in the past.... but now I am in trouble with WORD... is there a MrWord forum???

Excel Facts

How can you turn a range sideways?
Copy the range. Select a blank cell. Right-click, Paste Special, then choose Transpose.
A number of forums will have other applications within them.

What do you need to ask?

Oh Trevor.... where do I even start, haha

Actually... my problem is with Bullets - I have my paragraphs formatted so that there is no space between them, just a single indent. Then once in a while I have sections which have been written in point form so I wanted to use bullets... so I would like the bullet to begin as the intent and the rest of the paragraph in another indent.... but it just wants to do it's own thing!

When you select your text area, do you use the ruler with tabs and indents on them? As a tab can work like an extra indent. Or are you using the Dialog boxes?

Also as another option you could consider working inside tables, you don't need to have gridlines selected, but could use them as guides to keep the text aligned and indented as necessary.

You can use bullets and indents inside tables. To indent to a default position in a table use the Ctrl and Tab key.

Another option is to create your own style and then apply the style with the bullets in the places where you want them to appear and you can also use a keyboard option for the style.

OKAY..... This is a very large document - one which I did not type, but am formatting so that the entire document looks and acts the same. That being said, I am using the styles tabs. I did go to bullets and create what I wanted it to look like, but you are right about using the ruler - when I try and use it, it just messes me up. What I would like to do is create a style so that each time I come to the same example of text I can apply that style... but I can't seem to figure out how to make the dang bullets act as I want!!!

Create your style on one set of text and use the Styles Gallery to keep the style and give it a name and assign a keyboard command, usually Ctrl + 9 or 8 are free.

Then select each part of your document and apply the style with the keyboard.

Have you ever looked at the options to set the outside area of the document to tell you what styles you are currently using in the document?

Which version of Word are you using so I can point you to it.

I am using 2011

I have a couple areas which are correct... and have set the style to match it, however I come across an area which is typed in a crazy way and I can't seem to apply the style. What I am thinking is just re-typing those areas.

I have used the style thing to the side before, forgot about that.

Use the show and hide as well, that will tell you if there are to many tabs, spaces etc.

Thank you so very very much.... I am finding this project so frustrating... it is approx 250 individual stories which have been typed by 250 people and put together in one document - some people knew how to use word - most likely multiple versions of word hand some may not have even been typed in word... and here I am trying to make everything have the same formatting!!!!

THANK YOU AGAIN!!!
