Hi, I need help in the formula to be used. Im doing a spread sheet that has Job Complete (date) -A- column and task column -B-. When the job is completed I put in the date complete in Column A and the task for each job is already been specified. I need to find the total number of completed task ONLY. How do I do this?

How do I find the total number of task that only has a completion date. This list goes on to hundreds so I cant just do manual calculation. Thanks.

Sheeks.

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
That looks to me like the date is in column B, not A.

Try

=COUNT(B:B)

That formula cannot go in column B. Try like this

Excel Workbook
ABC
1TaskJob CompleteCount
282
37
412
51813/03/2011
617
73
8724/03/2011
92
105
114
Sheet1

I got it.... awesome. Thank you. BUT there's one more thing... I nedd to sum up the TASK with respect to the completed job ie the 18+7 ( A5 + A8) but not only the 2 dates... dates for the future as well... the date column will be filled up when a job is completed and tasks needed to be added up. Thanks Pete.
