Hi,

I'm using Access2007 and have inherited a database and been asked to modify something. My problem is when I open the database the navigation pane is missing, many items from the Ribbon are missing and also from the Office Button.

How do I correct this so I can work on it?

Thanks

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
First try by clicking on the F11 key. If that does not give you enough capabilities, then close the db and reopen by highlighting the db with your mouse, but selecting the Shift Key and the Enter Key simoultaneously.

Hi,

Thanks very much for that, both worked, F11 brought the navigation pane back and Shift+Enter opened it like a normal DB.

I presume it had been put into a state to protect it from people playing with it? How do you put it into that state in the first place?

Thanks!

If you are using 2007, click on the office button and select Options, This Spreadsheet. Uncheck the Navigation Panes, and uncheck the Menu and Shortcuts.

In earlier versions, click on Tools, Startup and make the appropriate selections.
