Hi,

I have two separate lists of codes one being an old list and one being a new list. I'd like a formula that I can apply in a cell next to each new code to see if it is included in the old list or not ( this could be just by saying yes / no for example.

I can then add in any codes that are missing.

Can someone help please?

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Have a look at the VLOOKUP function (assuming your lists are in rows, not columns otherwise the HLOOKUP)

Fundamentally, this compares a value against a range of other values and determines whether the value is in that list
