Instead of ranting in the 'Lounge', why not post a concise and considered question in the Excel questions forum giving some smallish sample data and the expected results and explain your issue in words?

Wait: before that why not search the Excel Questions forum as I'm sure that or a very similar question has been asked several times before?
 

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.

As usual, you are correct Peter_SSs, I did just that, found (quite easily) a solution to the exact same issue and now feel rather foolish, a thousand pardons and tomorrow, I will eat no cake as fitting punishment. đź‘€
