Is it possible to eliminate the standard auto filter function for a VBA's auto filter?
I'm trying to eliminate grouped rows (hidden) from opening when the auto filter is used.
Any help is appreciated.

Excel Facts

Highlight Duplicates
Home, Conditional Formatting, Highlight Cells, Duplicate records, OK to add pink formatting to any duplicates in selected range.
The only immediate workaround I can think of is to use a helper column to mark all rows which have to stay hidden and include this in your filter.

Good idea. Is there a way that VBA can be written so that if cell A2 has "X" in it it will immediately hide when auto filter is used?
