I have (had) a drop down list in a work sheet called "spec" that referenced a diffrent work sheet called "materials" in the same book. the file was created in excel beta 2. yea, excel beta 2. does excel 2000 reference work sheets in the same book?
Am only on Excel 97 today, and can't remember if you can do that in Excel 2000. I know that I have to name the range in the other sheet, and use =Name as the List reference for the Data Validation.
Yes even with Excel 2000, for data validation you have to use a name range via the Excel menu, Insert, Name, Define... if you want to refer to a list on a different sheet for data validation[nothing has changed].
I thought Johnny was refering to a combo box not a validation list.
But if you are right, your answer is the perfect one.
