Hi

I am trying to use a formula to strike through a row once the cell in column H is filled with a date. I just want the formula to apply when there is any text/number in that column and I can't find any help on this anywhere.

I don't want to do a specific date, just any date at all. For reference I am in the UK so date format is dd/mm/yyyy

Thanks

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest
Hi & welcome to MrExcel.
Select the range you want this to work on & in conditional formatting, new rule, use a formula & use
Excel Formula:
=$H2<>""
Change the 2 to match the 1st row you selected.

I have tried this and it keeps automatically changing itself to "$H2<>""""

You need to use The formula as I showed it, including the = sign.

I had added the equals sign, however I neglected to add the space between the two ". However the formula is applying to all selected cells when column H is still blank?

There should not be any spaces in the formula.

Did you select the "Use a Formula" option?
