How do autopopulate a checkmark on a wing ding

I have an excel spreadsheet that has links to another sheet on the same workbook. I have a wings dings symbol (checkbox) that I'm trying to autopopulate when the same wing ding symbol on the other worksheet is checked. I have used the "name define" feature, but that didn't seem to work.

IS there an easier way to accomplish this?

why not use a form check box and link to that cell?

Hi, I tried that, but then it wouldn't allow me to change the font on the text, so I didn't want to go that route. I appreciate the help though, thank you.
