How do I create a cycle count tracker to track the progress of total counted locations?

I am trying to create an Excel tracker to track the progress of daily cycle counts in the warehouse I work in. The aim is to track by total locations counted daily and compare the progress against a daily target.
I have previously tried using formulas and condition formatting but Im not satisfied with this. How do I do this using VBA?
