Hi all (again).

Not sure how to approach this formula.

I have a table which shows a name in a merged cell (C10:C11). D10 is 'F/cast', D11 is 'Act'. I have 2 rows of data on row E10 & E11 (to M10 & M11, which are months Apr - Dec). Row 10 shows forecast numbers, Row 11 show actual numbers. I have many many duplicate names underneath.

I want to sum all the rows in my table that are 'Actuals' in a given month. So for example, i want a formula that sums all 'Act' lines for Apr or May?

Any suggested approach?

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
This formula will sum the every other row in A1:A10, starting with A1.

=SUMPRODUCT(MOD(ROW(A1:A10),2), A1:A10)

Something similar should work for your situation.
