How do I turn date into the name of the month

Could someone help me right if function or use any other method to turn this column with a date 1/4/2010, 1/5/2010 and so on into a month. I would like to have one column with a date in this format and right next to it word January for everything that starts with 1, then word February for everything that starts with 2 and so on.

Simply copy the date into the cell, either directly, or with a simle formula like =A1

Then change the cell format to custom MMMM

You can also use:


=TEXT(A1,"mmmm")
