How should I link a very old article to an updated thread?

I found an article from 2014 and I'd like to give those participants credit for that work. I intend to do an updated article on the same topic but with PowerQuery (as opposed to PowerPivot from 2014).
Is there a link in the article (such as the shortcuts above for tags and such) I should use or do I just copy and paste the URL from said (old) article? I don't want to be breaking rules or anything with how its posted.

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
Open the old article and copy the URL from that thread, then paste it into the current thread / article
