How to break the link?

Hi,

I have copied a worksheet's formating to a new workbook using the format painter on Excel 2010.

This operation resulted in the new workook being linked to the one I copied the format from. I have tried to break the link using the option under the data tab>edit links but the dam link never breaks even though it does ask me if I really want to break the link and I choose a definetely YES.

Any idea how locate and eliminate this link.

Try this: Save and close the new workbook, then reopen it. Now try breaking the links. Dunno if this will still work on 2010, but it's fine on older versions when this happens.
