How to compare on filename to 3 different extentions?

I am writing up a reconciliation report and I am having trouble setting up a spreadsheet.

Let's call the one file 001. I need to check and see if 001 came out to 001.cpl, 001.tif, and 001.xml. If one of the 3 are missing I would like some kind of reg flag thrown up.

What is the best way to do this?

Where are these files? Are they in a folder somewhere?

Or are their names in a worksheet somewhere?

The files are scattered in different parts of the computer but all the info will be coming out of a log. So column a could have 001 and column b would have 001.tif in the first row, 001.xml in the second, and 001.ctl in the third row.

So is the log file plain text rather than an Excel workbook? What's the file extension?

Can you post a representative sample here?

Yes, that shouldn't be too difficult. And it's definitely a plain text file? What's the file extension?

When I pasted the data into a file there was a space after the fifth character of the file name. Does the file actually look like this:-

I think he means the full name of the files.
and filenames are populated in columnA without extensions.

which way are you planning to take this? I can't think of an easy way to find these files as opposed to what you said. :) I'm just curious that's all xD
I can only think of doing this with a batch file.

The space is the columns spacing. Column A is on the left while Column B is on the right. I need to compare the whole filename without the extensions.

So I have 001 in column A. I need to search all of column be for each file type of 001. If one of those file types are missing I wanted to post the result into another column showing which is missing.
