I have a list of several items and need to see which item is in both rows:

e.g.

Column A Column B
X4567 X4578
X4578 X1125
X8777 X4567
.
.
.
etc

(The list is much longer)

Would the Match function work?

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
in c1 you could use
=COUNTIF(A:A,B1)
then you can filter by column c and choose just the 1's and those values are in both columns.
