I would prefer to have an icon in the ribbon appearing on all spreadsheets to open the VBA editor rather than having the need to hit alt-f11. When I try to create the icon by using a macro, I can't seem to get the editor to show alt-f11.

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
Hey, no need for a macro to add that button.
Just go to excel options > customize and add the visual basic button to your quick acces toolbar and/or activate the developer ribbon

Why not add the "view code" icon into the Quick Access Toolbar.
Goto "File" "Options" "Quick Access Toolbar"
