Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.

Can you protect your sheet using the menu option Review/Protect Sheet? Lock the cells you don't want people to copy. Then, protect the sheet and uncheck "Select locked cells". So, people can't select them and, thus, can't copy them. Just remember Excel's protection is weak. It can be easily broken.

There is no easy way.

I remember being able to stop that message but I had to use a windows timer or install a windows hook. However, both methods are better avoided unless absolutely necessary and used only temporarly during code life-time.

I would follow yky advise.

You can just simply uncheck Select Locked Cells when asking for password to protect sheet. This way viewer cannot click the cell and no message :)

That's the method I suggested to OP.
