Hi all,

I am using Excel 2007. I have a column with each cell containing data in the following form: C10711 - Manufacture of bread (with or without pastry).

I need to extract only the figures into another column. Relating to the above example, I need to extract only 107111.

Anyone can help?

regards,
Ali

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
Hi, Ali.

Why don't you try this:
Code:
=MID(A1,2,5)
A1: The cell where the data is;
2: the position to start stracting from;
5: how many characters you need to stract.

Regards,

Juan Pablo
