How to find duplicates

Hi,

Need help.

I want to find duplicate values in two columns of excel (2007) sheet. Each cell of data are as mentioned below

ID /Name
BOM12378 /AAA
BOM34987 /BBB
BOM03629 /CCC
IND01643 /DDD
IND34961 /EEE

There are over 4000 cells containg data in the same fashions. How to find duplicates?

Have you tried the Remove Duplicates feature on the Data tab? Or Conditional Formatting|Highlight Cells Rules|Duplicate Values?

Yes, I have trie all this. May be it is not working because the data contain alphabets and digits both together.

Are you sure that there are duplicates? I don't see any in the sample data that you posted.

Yes, There are duplicate. In the sample data IDs are "BOM12345", "BOM34567", "IND01347" etc.

Yes, but are they followed by the same characters?
