I defined a name in excel like this "'Test!$K$5:$K$504" as Student Name.
So the defined Range will have list of studentName in it .
If i'm selecting a studentName how to get the index value defined for the coresponding Student.

Thanks in advance

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.

Cool

=MATCH(A2,StudentName,0)

would determine the position (index) of the student in A2 in the range StdentName stands for.
