How to grab the last number in a column

I asked this question last year and used the response successfully, but I forgot how to do it because I haven't used it in so long

How do you retrieve whatever is the last number in a column ( say a running total )?

Thanks again...I will store the formula somewhere, I promise....

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
The VALUE of the last NUMERIC value in Col_A:
Code:
=LOOKUP(10^99,A:A)

The VALUE of the last NUMERIC value in Row_1:
Code:
=LOOKUP(10^99,1:1)
