How to ignore space?

Hi,I am using a textbox to validate ten rows data whether it is empty or having some data...But there is a problem,when the ten rows s empty,my textbox will still having all the space....For example, textbox1.text="..........."

How can I ignore the space?

Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
How about if i want to use a string variable to store the textbox data without space???Because I had try many times.....
