How to Limit Area of Autofilter

I can't figure out how to create a "bottom" to my data. I have column headers at the top and a bunch of data in the middle of the sheet. I have used autofilter to manipulate the data. I would like to draw a line beneath which the data was no longer subject to the autofilter. I would like to put subtotals down there that adjust when the autofilter is manipulated but are not included in the data being manipulated.

I'm sure this is an easy thing to do but I can't figure it out.

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
Just enter a blank row between the last row of your data and where you want your subtotals. Generally, I prefer to put those kind of subtotals in row 1 and have the data start in row 3. That makes it much simpler to keep the subtotals in view by freezing panes on row 3 (otherwise you normally end up splitting the window).
