Hi

Im sure there is an easy way to fix the following but I have searched and searched for an answer with no luck.

At my work (excell 1997) if I double click on a .csv file it will auto open in excell in colums. I can even use forumals from another work sheet to get data with out ever opening the file. If I open the same file at home (MS Office home and student 2010) it will open in CSV format with all data from a row in one cell. Formulars from ther wookbooks do not work unless I convert the .csv to an excell file.

So the questions are:
Is there a way to make excell 2010 to treat .csv as excell files so I can grab data from cells from other workbooks.

and if not is the a way to mass change csv to xls? Considering Im dealing with 100's of files at a time.

Thanks you so much for your time
scott

Double-click any number in a pivot table to create a new report showing all detail rows that make up that number
I haven't got 2010, so can't test for your problem ... but while you are waiting for someone else to confirm/solve the problem, can you say whether your computer settings at home are the same as at work ( i.e. field separator being "," ), and whether you're certain that the file extension really is "CSV" and not a variation on that?
