Hi

How do I add up (B2:B7) if the amount comes with a S$ in front of the numbers. Right now I re-key the amount next to the cell C2 to do so.
Can anyone help

Best way to learn Power Query?
Read M is for (Data) Monkey book by Ken Puls and Miguel Escobar. It is the complete guide to Power Query.
If you always have S$ preceeding the numeber then, in cell C2 Enter the formula

=RIGHT(B2,LEN(B2)-2)*1

drag it down to c7. move cursor to C8, Hit Alt+Enter.

Hi Arul
Can I trouble you one more thing, let say I need to copy some of the value in Column C to another sheet to do some data calculation, I assume I cannot use the copy & paste method, right. What should do to make it work.

You can use the paste special method. After copying the cells. navigate to the desired cell where you wish to paste. if you are using Excel 2010 or 2007, Hit Alt then E then S then V and select the desired option from the Paste special doalog box which shows up and click OK.
