How do I password protect a read only Excel file? Is it possible? The only way I've been able to do it is to make the excel file read only then create a ZIP file then password protect that, there must be a better way to do it?

Excel Facts

Ambidextrous Undo
Undo last command with Ctrl+Z or Alt+Backspace. If you use the Undo icon in the QAT, open the drop-down arrow to undo up to 100 steps.
In 2000 - 2003 you can save as / tools / general options / then check password to open and check read only

I was hoping you were not going to ask me that as I don't have 2007 on this computer but I think it's simular. click the icon top left and save as / pick the format and go options

When you choose "Save As" option then on the bottom left of the dialog box you will see a small button "Tools" with drop down arrow.

Click on it and choose "General Options" and there you go :)

I do not know why it is shifted to such non-descript location.
