How to reduce file size? Remove unused rows/columns?

I have a workbook with many worksheets. It is very slow to calculate.
Most the the worksheets are small and are limited to a single page of info.
There would never be a need to them to be any larger.
How can I reduce the file size and speed things up?
Is is possible to remove all the unused rows and columns on worksheets?

I think not so much a calling card but an excessive use of formulas. You can tell what kind of formula that repeated use? You can reduce the number of formatting entire columns but I do not think that will slow the counting data
