Hi Friends,

My requirement is that I have to search a cell's value whether or not it is there in another column of another pc (shared workbook).

For Eg:

Let's say a shared workbook named "Pre_Report.xlsx" is located in pc (192.168.79.1). Now in my pc (192.168.79.2), I have a workbook named "Final_Report.xls", in which if I enter a string in a cell (lets say A2), it should search for that string in particular column in "Pre_Report.xlsx" and should return Error if not matched.

Please help me....

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
If you want to you can simply use the external file as another excel file - the lookup will still work.

You can also run Microsoft Query in an excel file (or many other sorts of file) anywhere you can see on the network to find external data based on any search criteria you like and you can then set this to update the link automatically which runs the query every time the worksheet is opened - the file with the data in it does not have to be open at any point to do this.

Google Microsoft Query for examples.

You will however have to allow this to happen each time unless your shared file is stored in a "trusted location"
