How do I spearate first and last names spearted by a comma? I have 21,000+ names in our database with last name, first name. I need to break out the names into 2 separate columns. Can anyone help me.
Use Data>Text to Column. Select the delimitor option and check the comma box. Just follow the wizard. This message was edited by lenze on 2002-10-02 13:25
I used the Data, Text to Columns, with a space, but often get asked what to do when the name is complex, such as Last Name = Da Silva or Van De Kamp (not simple like Smith). What do you do then. I have seen a formula for this before. Thank you.
