Hi all, pls see if you can help with the below:

I have sheet1 showing one column for dates and the next column showing account money movements like below example:

01Sep06 1000
04Sep06 (200)
12Sep06 500

How do I show on another sheet the daily a/c balance like below:

01Sep06 1000
02Sep06 1000
03Sep06 1000
04Sep06 800
.
.
.
12Sep06 1300
13Sep06 1300
.
.
.
30Sep06 1300

Have tried using pivot table but it will only sum and show account balance on those specific movement dates but not include all dates of a month.

Thanks!

Waterfall charts in Excel?
Office 365 customers have access to Waterfall charts since late 2016. They were added to Excel 2019.

If your list of dates for the month start in A1, in B1 enter:

=SUMIF(Sheet1!A:A,"<="&A1,Sheet1!B:B)

and copy down.

The formula assumes your list of transactions in in A:B on Sheet1. Change those references to suit.

Thanks very much Andrew. One last question: the money movements in sheet1 has another column for different account names. How do I improve your formula to further select a specific account only?

If your account names are in column C on Sheet1, and the required name is in C1 on your daily balance sheet, in B1:

=SUMPRODUCT(--(Sheet1!$A$1:$A$20<=A2),--(Sheet1!$C$1:$C$20=$C$1),Sheet1!$B$1:$B$20)

You can expand the ranges (eg Sheet1!$A$1:$A$1000) but they must all be the same number of rows, and you can't use an entire column like Sheet1!A:A.
