We are starting to migrate to Excel 2010. We also use Hyperion Enterprise v6.3 and use Retrieve which is an add in to excel to hit against the Hyperion Enterprise database. The problem is that we cannont get Hyperion Retrieve to work in Excel 2010 if we have External Authentication on. We use Retrieve on Excel 2000, Excel 2002, Excel 2003 and Excel 2007 without a problem. I built a new Hyperion Enterprise App and got Retrieve to work in Excel 2010 but once I turned on the External Authentication I could no longer log in to Retrieve. When you log in to Retrieve it prompts for a user id and password. Once the password is put in it fails the same as if the wrong password was used. When using External Authentication it uses an xml file to validate the user id and password against active directory. Because it fails right after the password is put in it is as if Excel 2010 is not able to access the xml or active directory file or has some sort of permissions or security issue.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o> </o>
On one machine I have both Excel 2007 and 2010 installed. If I run Excel 2007 and then launch Retrieve with External Authentication I can log in without a problem but if I run Excel 2010 and then launch the exact same Retrieve it fails.
<o> </o>Does anyone have any ideas what we could do to make this work?

Thank you much,
